Join us for a Workshop-Writeshop: “Exploring the Impacts of Indonesia’s Capital Relocation to Kalimantan”
Date: July 8-9, 2024 – Location: Utrecht, exact location T.B.D.
About the Event:
“Following Frontiers of the Forest City” is a 5-year research project investigating the institutional, financial and physical implications of the monumental capital city relocation, not only for East Kalimantan but for many areas far beyond. Researchers from Gadjah Mada University, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, Institut Teknologi Kalimantan, in collaboration with researchers from Utrecht University and IHE-Delft and partners from East Kalimantan Government and Peatland and Mangrove Restoration Agency, aim to unravel the multifaceted impacts of this relocation. This workshop aims to go deeper than a conventional conference, we aim to facilitate exchange of research experiences and ideas, and supporting each other to eventually publish our results. We are keen to create network of young/early career researchers working on this topic in collaboration with more experienced/senior researchers.
Key Objectives:
- Foster dialogue among researchers invested in the Indonesia Capital Relocation Project.
- Exchange insights and ideas on the development, environmental, and social implications of the relocation
