ITK Hosts Forest City Consortium Workshop on Sustainable Urbanization
The Faculty of Sustainable Development (FSD) at Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) hosted a Forest City Consortium Workshop on August 19, 2025, focusing on “Sustainable and Inclusive Urbanization in IKN and Beyond.”

Held at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology campus in Balikpapan, this workshop represents a step toward realizing Indonesia’s new capital as a sustainable forest city that balances environmental responsibility with inclusive development for future generations.
The collaborative event brought together researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders committed to building a modern city that maintains harmony with nature. Participants engaged in discussions aimed at ensuring that IKN’s development creates positive impacts while preserving the region’s ecological integrity.

This workshop continues the Forest City Consortium’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable urbanization strategies that can serve as models for environmentally-conscious urban development beyond IKN, contributing to Indonesia’s broader sustainability goals.
